I see no straight line between this morning's location, Coeur d'Alene, ID, and tonight's location, Kalispell, MT. Between the two, sort of, but way north in Idaho, is Bonners Ferry. I'm planning to drive up there and cross into Montana near Troy and the Yaak Valley, and then drive southeast along the Kootenai River to Kalispell.

The Kootenai indian tribe is part of the Flathead Nation, mostly located in the far northwestern US and southwestern Canada. The Kootenai River is over 400 miles long and spends most of its life in British Columbia, dipping into Idaho and Montana for awhile before returning to Canada. It's a tributary of the Columbia River, which empties into the Pacific Ocean. After another week of travel, I should reach rivers that empty east instead of west. Just those grand Rockies to get past first, and a fair amount of beautiful country.

Another adventure. Should take the better part of the day.

There will be pictures, but no quiz.
